Shire, the home of all hobbits and halflings, is a temple city nestled in the rolling hills and plains of western Mystic. Here, the hobbits have built a home which provides all the amenities of a big city, but kept a small-town atmosphere.
The residents of the Shire live a care-free life, knowing that their safety is being assured. The Thain and the local shiriffs help to enforce the local laws, and Mirgo Headswipe, the local executioner, carries out any punishments with swift justice. In times of need, the Shire trusts in its stalwart defenders, the Crystal Talon, one of the many fine clans on Mystic.
Adventurers visiting the Shire will find that it has all the trappings of a larger city - from the beautiful Savannah healing the wounded, to Relknan, the local blacksmith, and to the many local shopkeepers.
Take a break and rest in the scenic beauty of the glade, beside a warm campfire, or visit the Ivy Bush or the Green Dragon for a drink and to hear the latest news and gossip. Meet Barefoot Betty, the local gossip and source of all news. Or visit Took Hill for a peaceful picnic. Resourceful visitors might even have a chance to meet the Shire's most famous resident, Bilbo Baggins, in his cozy home at Bag End.
When you are ready to move on, rest assured that there are many wonderful places to explore, for adventurers of any level of ability, only a short hike away. Be sure to visit the local mapmaker on Delving Lane while you are there, if you need help finding your way around.
